Ilana Friedman is an Assistant Professor of Law at the J. David Rosenberg College of Law at the University of Kentucky where she teaches courses on the criminal law, criminal procedure, and American policing.

Ilana’s research seeks to understand prosecutorial decision-making in context of the investigation and prosecution of police officers.

About

I am a law professor bringing expertise in civil rights and criminal defense litigation to questions at the intersection of law and society. I received my Ph.D. (sociology) from The University of Texas at Austin, my J.D. and M.A. (sociology, awarded with distinction) from St. Louis University, and my B.A. (history) from the University of Wisconsin-Madison.

I teach courses in the criminal law curriculum at the J. David Rosenberg College of Law at the University of Kentucky. My teaching package includes criminal law, criminal procedure, and a seminar entitled, Law, Society, & American Policing.
